Why is Lancaster such a wonderful place to live? Mary Sue has lived here for 30 years, so she’s the perfect person to tell you all about this gorgeous area.

The first thing we want to mention is that it isn’t just us; The New York Times, Forbes Magazine, and others have listed Lancaster as one of the best places in the country to live. These publications rave about our restaurants, beauty, and historic attractions, but there’s a ton of great stuff they don’t have time to mention.

For example, the talk of the town right now is our Southern and Central Markets. The Central Market is the most historic farmers’ market in the country, and it’s a wonderful place full of fresh ingredients. Meanwhile, the Southern Market is similar to a top-end food court full of local restaurants. Each place is like a restaurant start-up; they had to apply to set up shop there, and they aren’t allowed to stay forever. If a vendor is popular enough, they can use the money and popularity they’ve earned to create a permanent business. To top it off, there’s a bar in the center of the market, so you can spend a full evening trying out the local cuisine. It’s a very cool idea, and the town is buzzing over it.

“The town is buzzing over the Southern Market. ”

At the end of the day, we could run down every unique feature of Lancaster, but what truly makes our town special is our quality of life. Access to amenities, healthcare, and beautiful nature are just a few things that make life here magical. Mary Sue had to be dragged kicking and screaming to move here 30 years ago. Now, you couldn’t do anything to make her leave.
